The competition and submission form will be open between Thursday 29 May - Monday 30 June 2025.
The Royal College of Physicians are pleased to offer associate college tutors (ACTs) the opportunity to present at this year’s virtual CT & ACT national conference.
Each year, we invite ACTs to submit information about any real-time initiatives and improvements delivered in post. Not only does this offer a platform to showcase and present your novel and collaborative work at a national level, but these sessions may also inspire others to implement similar projects or improvements in their own hospital.
If you’ve been working on something that you feel demonstrates the importance and success of the ACT role and could inspire others, we’d love to hear about it. This year up to three shortlisted winners will present their ACT success stories during the conference.
How to apply:
A 250 word abstract of your presentation should be submitted as an expression of interest via our online form. We want to understand what you did and how you did it; what you have learnt, and for you to reflect on any obstacles and challenges.
You'll need the title of your proposed presentation, your 250 word abstract, the details of the college tutor who is in support of your application (this should be agreed before submission) and details of any co-authors (if relevant) to apply.
There is no limit to the number of entries per person but the work described must have been completed whilst in the ACT role.
Joint submissions from multiple ACTs are welcome, but please be aware only one ACT can present per topic. If shortlisted for presentation, the lead author AND all co-authors will receive a certificate of recognition for their portfolios.
Eligibility
ACTs from 2024 and 2025 cohorts are eligible to apply. ACTs who have recently stood down (in the last 9 months) are welcome to apply. This year we will be shortlisting up to three abstracts. Other abstracts will be considered for dissemination to the regional networks with the authors' permission. The successful applicants will pre-record their presentation to be shown at the virtual CT & ACT national conference and must be available for live Q&A on 17 September. The Q&A session will take place remotely via MS Teams. The presentation must be designed to be of value for presentation to college tutors and associate college tutors, particularly focusing on sharing your learning with others. The duration of the presentation is still to be confirmed. Closing date for applications: 30 June 2025 at 11.59pm
