Dr Louise Bate
I trained as a physician in the North East, London and Liverpool, and worked as a Consultant Neurologist at the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery prior to joining NICE in 2010. I lead the NICE medicines and prescribing associate programme, a national multi-professional network of doctors, nurses and pharmacists involved in medicines optimisation and prescribing. I also work as Clinical Engagement Lead for RCP at The Spine, working with medical, academic, scientific and local communities to realise the RCP vision of creating an active hub for physicians in the North. In my spare time, I can be found deciphering COVID regulations across the 4 regions my family work, socialise and play sport in, or practising my ballet.
