Welcome to the

Call the medical registrar conference

8 July 2021

Being the medical registrar on call is often (anecdotally) cited as the reason trainee doctors choose not to pursue a career in hospital medicine. The role brings a hugely increased responsibility and can be incredibly stressful. It is a position that is often feared but is incredibly important and a vital steppingstone in the career of a physician.

This conference aims to prepare trainees for the transition into the medical registrar role. Topics include how to manage the acute medical take safely, when to call the consultant and the importance of registrar wellbeing, as well as focusing on speciality top-tips in the acute setting.

The programme has been developed in collaboration with The Core, Wales and is free to attend for RCP subscribing members. Click here to find out more about membership.

Who should attend?

All trainees are welcome. IM2, IM3 and ST3 trainees will find this of particular use. Locally employed and SAS doctors and trainees who have been on extended leave or out of programme are also encouraged to attend.

On-demand access

We want our delegates to be able to access learning at a time that suits them. All conference content will be available on demand for up to 60 days (6 September 2021). Please note you will have until 7 August 2021 to gain the maximum 6 CPD points. For the remaining days, you can self-accredit as independent learning.
